Getting That Ultimate Stress Free Break

By Susan Reed

When thinking of having that much awaited vacation, you should do something different as a way to prepare your body and soul for that long weekend. It might sound like it needs effort when you do it but if you actually do it then you will see the difference and importance of not ruining that moment. Before you do it, get an idea at least of the things to do and avoid.

To be free of stress during travel, avoid doing sidelines. This means extra works that you should not do before you leave. When you plan to book Disneyland vacation package, get rid of extra works with the hope to have extra money while on vacation.

While you will definitely benefit from doing the tasks, it will not be simpler in the act of preparing for that travel. For some, this could only add to the problems when one lacks priorities and focus of the things. Deadlines need to be prioritized while other things must be left behind for others to take care of it.

Pressure from the boss may only make you feel obliged to perform the duties every day that you are gone. Do not do it for your sake. When telling them your plans, say it as vague as possible to get rid of any expectations. This is like teaching them as well to be truly independent in the office.

You also need to practice in becoming out of touch for even for a short span of time. You need to turn your phone off before going to bed and so on. This will help you focus on what you have initially planned and to get rid of the pressures. Practice without really feeling guilty and it will help you when you go vacation mode.

Often, you need to have a level of expectations when traveling. Having a delayed flight will also not do good to you as well as that rainy weather because it could change the plan and everything for that day. To get rid of wasting time, you can read or listen some music while you wait for that rain to stop or that delayed flight.

Remind yourself that it is a vacation and not an extension of your office works. Do not feel obliged to check your email or listen to voice mail. Focus and get that real mental absence from your work. You deserve this time for yourself so earn it.

Nevertheless, this does not mean getting rid of technology or your phones specifically. Use your phone to take snaps or browse the Internet to know more things to do in that place. If you really have to answer an email or a call then it should just be a few minutes depending on its importance. Or, not answering at all could also be an option.

Plan all the activities that you will be doing from the start of wanting to be in the area. Avoid over doing or over thinking stuff because it will not be that great anymore. Balance the things and again, do have some back up plans. Performing so will make you more flexible in the process.
