Discovering A Bed And Breakfast Cape Cod

By Kenneth Barnes

While there are often many lodging facilities in Massachusetts, some are better than others. One of the best things about a Bed and Breakfast Cape Cod, is that one can often check-in, sit back, relax, get some sleep and wake to a breakfast with other guests. While this is the case, there are also a number of hotels and restaurants in the area. Regardless of where one stays, the region offers a lot to those visiting the area.

Extending into the Atlantic Ocean from the southeast corner of Massachusetts, the area offers a great deal of maritime history and a number pristine beaches. While, Spring and Summer can often be quite busy, winter is often quiet with a number of businesses closed for the season. As such, those planning a winter getaway may want to call and verify lodging facilities, restaurants and shops are open before planning a visit during this time of year.

Stretching the distance from Plymouth to Provincetown, there are many areas which are considered to be part of the cape. As such, there are a number of country roads which are lined with quaint antique malls, businesses, stores and tourist attractions. In fact, one of the most romantic aspects of this area are the many antique malls since the area basically dates back to the beginning days of the country.

Ferries are also available for trips to Martha's Vineyard or Nantucket, two islands just off the coast of Massachusetts. In the case of Martha's Vineyard, there is a local hike and bike trail, beaches, restaurants and one of the best ice cream shops in America. Whereas, when visiting Nantucket, life evolves at a much slower pace, though there are a number of coffee shops and restaurants at which one can relax while taking in views of the Ocean and the local area.

In both cases, ferries depart from multiple destinations before making the course to the islands. In some cases, the ferries may only run during certain hours. As such, it is often advised that individuals view online schedules related to each ferry before making the drive to a departure point.

International travelers often prefer to stay in youth hostels. One of the best hostels in America is located on Martha's Vineyard. The hostel features both private and dorm rooms, a full kitchen, bike rentals, lockers and group outings. Located on a hike and bike trail, athletes and athletic types often prefer to stay at this location.

The entire cape is often a draw for retirees, especially the town of Carver. For, this location is convenient to a number of stores, restaurants and host a senior mobile home park along with an activities center. As a result, this area also has a population with an average age higher than most others.

Whether on a business trip, vacation, or visiting relatives, Massachusetts, the cape and islands have a lot to offer. For, whether taking a history tour in downtown Boston, relaxing on the cape or enjoying the fine dining offered at many restaurants, most often those visiting the area report having a great time.
